Important information for contributing members about tax changes to retirement savings

24 March 2016

If you're a contributing member of the Experian Retirement Savings Plan (ERSP) then you'll have recently received the attached guide about the tax changes to retirement savings from 6th April 2016.

A summary of the changes was issued to all members in January 2016, and the latest guide explains the changes to the limits for tax-free retirement savings in more detail, as well as the options available to you if you're affected by them. We won't know if you're affected by the changes as it depends on your personal circumstances and your taxable income each year from all sources.

Most members are unlikely to be affected by the changes but you're responsible for your own tax position, so it's important that you understand the changes. You're also encouraged to seek professional tax or financial advice if you're unsure whether you're affected.

Additional help for contributing members

An online modeller is being launched to help you work out what your new tax-free limits might be, based on your expected income and retirement savings. Further details will be published on Zoom as soon as they're available.

We'll also be running a series of group workshops in Nottingham on 6th and 7th April, and in London on 18th and 20th April, for contributing members who think they'll be affected by the changes. Please contact the Experian Pension team at Capita on 0114 229 8273 or at experianpensions@capita.co.uk in the first instance if you think you'll be affected and wish to register your interest in attending a workshop, as spaces are limited.
